But seriously, have you ever worked with the wrong client?

It’s the worst.

They’re needy… they expect you to do crazy work at crazy hours for them… they think you’re magic (most of them I think secretly believe in Santa Clause).

When I first started client work, I got a lot of these pals. It was rough.

But I learned to work my marketing in such a way that it weeded *most* of the wrong clients out and I eventually stopped taking them altogether.

In today's article, I want to give you insight into how this process works.

And how you can do the same in your business, if you work with clients.

Here are three underground methods for weeding out “problem” clients.

1) Have enough inbound, coming in, you don't have time to take a bad client just for the money

It's true.

Working with bad clients is your fault.

It's a choice. You gotta accept that.

But when the choice is between taking a bad client or missing your mortgage, it's hard (if not impossible) to say “no.”

This is why the best thing you can do to eradicate bad clients is just get your business to a place where you don't need them.

2) Tell stories about them

At Traffic & Funnels we are HUGE fans of “repellent marketing.

It's your marketing's job to not only pull people in but also to tell people who DO NOT BELONG to leave.

This will eventually become part of your brand in the marketplace.

I wrote an article while I was still doing freelance called “How to Deal With Dumb Clients,” and I made sure every new lead coming through my funnel saw that article.

It made it clear to any potential client that I wasn't the guy to complain to or be needy around.

Those types of prospects felt repelled by that and eventually stopped bothering me altogether.

3) Raise your prices (the more the better)

I had a really hard time with this.

Raising your prices is terrifying.

What we've found is there is a RIGHT way to raise your prices, and a WRONG way to raise your prices…

And most people are doing it wrong because some fake guru out there is teaching it wrong. Go figure…

But the truth is, when you do it right (raise your prices, that is), you will notice the pool of “bad clients” dries up almost entirely…

The more someone pays to work with you, generally, the more enjoyable they are as a client.

Here's something crazy: our client raise their prices ACROSS the board (average) by over 8X.

And you know what's even crazier?

Their clients are more than happy to pay the fees and they enjoy the process more.
