“How does your Organic Inbound Marketing strategy work, Taylor?

It’s a question I get all the time.

In this article I’m going to break down the process to get results in your own inbound marketing strategy.

The Organic Inbound Marketing Strategy That Works

It’s simple…

When you boil down an inbound marketing strategy to the very basics…

All you’re really doing is moving people through a series of 3 steps:

  1. Cold: “Who are you?”
  2. Warm: “I’m listening.”
  3. Hot: “Let’s talk.

And no matter whether you’re using cold outreach, paid advertising or inbound organic, nothing is going to change about that 3-step journey… Because it follows human nature.

Here’s the Difference

Cold outreach only “scoops up” a few cold prospects

Paid advertising “scoops up” masses of cold prospects.

And when you scoop up more cold prospects, you get more inbound phone calls…

So you get more phone calls when you use paid advertising.

But with our organic inbound marketing strategy, you now have a way to scoop up masses of cold prospects.

…and flood your calendar with 20-25 phone calls per week

Without using paid advertising.

Here’s what it looks like:

  1. You cast a “net” in front of masses of cold prospects

  2. Warm prospects reach out to learn more

  3. Hot prospects apply to talk

It couldn’t get more simple.

Because, if you follow the processes I’m going to show you in this article, you will have all the knowledge you need to have a consistent and predictable stream of inbound people coming to talk to you in your marketing strategy.

How to Scoop up Masses of Cold Prospects

In this section we’re going to cover:

  • The fundamentals of organic client acquisition
  • Where to cast your “net”
  • Our framework for building organic content (so that people reach out to YOU.)

The Fundamentals of Organic Client Acquisition

Organic is the ability to earn the attention of your market or prospects without using ads, automation or a webinar. It’s like paid traffic without paying for it.

The primary goal of your organic posts should be to get phone calls booked (strategy sessions) with prospects, and eventually land them as clients.

Where to “Cast your Net”

The first step in scooping up masses of cold prospects is finding them and then dropping your nets. I like to use the term “search and deploy” for this.

  • Search: This is all about finding where your audience is (Facebook, FB Groups, LinkedIn, Twitter, Blogs, Forums, JV’s, etc.)
  • Deploy: (Drop your nets) This is about creating posts that answer your market’s biggest problems. Give value here as often as possible. Lead readers to take action.

Post on your profile. Post in groups. This is about establishing authority and leadership within your niche market.

Group Post Strategy:

  • 3 to 5 group posts per week
  • 5 comments on other people’s group posts per day
  • Send friend requests to anyone who likes or comments on your posts or comments. (Add at least 10 friends per day)
  • Do not post the same post in multiple groups on the same day. It looks spammy and can get you blocked by Facebook.

Your Personal Profile Strategy:

  • 10-15 personal profile posts to “prime” your profile
  • 1 to 2 personal profile posts per day after week 1
  • Every 3rd or 4th personal profile post, post a CTA with your schedule link
  • Be sure to check that your profile settings are set to public.

What to Post:

Make a list of mistakes your market is making, and a list of the results that they want.

Use this list as raw material to construct organic posts.

Formula:

Quality + Quantity + Consistency  = Successful Organic Inbound Marketing

How to Move Cold Prospects to Warm

The fastest way to create a flood of inbound messenger conversations with this method is by using the “2-Step” organic post strategy.

It boils down to this:

In an organic post, you offer up something you’re interested in creating. This can be a video training, a checklist PDF or some other type of “lead magnet.”

You put the teaser post out there and get people who are interested to comment. And then if enough people comment, you create it and send that information to them.

From there, the messenger conversations begin.

Read on where I show you an example of how to do this yourself and get a flood of messenger conversations in my article, the “2-step post strategy for more messenger conversations.

How to Move Warm Prospects to Phone Call

This is where you turn your flood of messenger conversations into strategy sessions (phone calls.)

The first goal of your messenger conversations should be to build rapport quickly.

Look for the opportunity to make a connection of something you both share in common.

“Oh yeah, I understand how that feels. I had that happen to me too.”

That helps you build rapport.

You only want to make 1 or 2 of those rapport connections, though.

Then go deeper into their business.

“How is business right now?”

“What’s your biggest challenge?”

“Oh yeah? I help people with that.”

Here is where you wait for them to reply back to you. If they do…

“That depends on a couple of things. I would have to understand your business a little bit more.”

Then *lean out*. Wait for them to inquire about next steps.

Don’t respond for a day or so.

“The best way for me to understand your business is to jump on the phone.”

Then they will often give you a time that works for them.

“I work out of a calendar. I’ll go ahead and put this in my calendar. I can send it to yours as well. What’s your email?”

…It’s a natural conversation.

The last step:

“Hey, so that we can hit the ground running on this call, I’d love to email you a quick questionnaire so we can get the basic questions out of the way and we can dive deep into your business.”

This pre-qualifies them and gets you the information you need to be more effective on the call.

If your questionnaire says “application” on it, you can tell them:

“Hey, most people apply to talk to me. Don’t worry about the fact that the questionnaire says “application.” I’ve already got you on my calendar.”

This process is all about throwing the hook and leaning out.

Don’t try to push all of these steps into 1 short message at the beginning of your conversation. That will push people away. Let it play out as a conversation.

By the time they get to the call, they will view you as a professional. And you will have the opportunity to truly help them.

This process will help turn your inbound messenger conversations into strategy sessions.

Read more on this topic in my article How to Effortlessly Take People from Messenger to Phone Call.

Messenger Process:

  • Follow up via messenger with at least ten people per day who have commented on your 2-step post.
  • Don’t message them until they have accepted your friend request, otherwise your message will be pushed to a filtered folder and they may not see it.
  • Have a real conversation. It’s not just about getting them on the phone.
  • Give yourself 30-60 seconds to look at their profile and find one point of rapport to initiate the conversations (travel pics, their cover photo, they work out, etc.)

When you boil down an inbound marketing strategy to the very basics, It’s all about:

  1. Scooping Up Masses of Cold Prospects

  2. Moving Cold Prospects to Warm

  3. Moving Warm Prospects to Phone Call
